Der MFD zeigt Spitzenexponate seiner Mitgliedsinstitute zum 
Tag des offenen Labors im Helmholtzzentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. Unter dem Motto "Die Zukunft im Blick. Forschen für die Welt von morgen" öffnen mehr als fünfzig Labors des HZDR. Es gibt interessante Vorträge, Experimente zum Mit- und Physik zum Nachmachen für Groß und Klein.
20. - 23. Mai 201210th CMCee - "International Symposium on Ceramic Materials and Components for Energy and Environmental Applications" - organisiert vom Fraunhofer IKTS Dresden im Internationalen Congress Center Dresden. Der MFD beteiligt sich an der "Company Presentation".

Der MFD unterstützt das 5. Nanofair-Nachwuchsforum zur Nanofair 2012 im Fraunhofer-IWS Dresden.

Auf der Nanaofair 2012 präsentiert der MFD am Stand der Landeshaupstadt Dresden ausgewählte Forschungs-Highlights seiner Mitgliedsinstitute.
06. Juli 201210. Dresdner Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften
Als Gast im IFW Dresden zeigt der MFD materialwissenschaftliche Spitzenleistungen seiner Mitgliedsinstitute. Das Spektrum reicht von der Textilverbundkeramik über die Polymer-Elektronik bis hin zu innovativen Naturstoffen. Aber auch moderne Prüfverfahren gehören dazu.
03. - 06. Juli 20126th European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM) organized by IZFP Dresden and DGZfP. The EWSHM was first successfully run in 2002 in Cachan near Paris/France. It has grown over the years significantly and has become the strong counterpart to the International Workshop on SHM (IWSHM) held in Stanford/CA every odd year. In 2012 EWSHM will be merged a very first time with the 1st European Conference of the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Society.
06. - 08. Februar 20136th International Symposium on the Separation and Characterization of Natural and Synthetic Macromolecules (SCM-6) organized by IPF Dresden
As the five previous meetings held in Amsterdam, SCM-6 is trying to bring together a variety of scientists who share an interest in the separation and characterization of large molecules.
