Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden e. V. (IPF)

The IPF is a publicly funded research institute (50 % each by federal and state governments). Being one the largest polymer research institutions in Germany it pursues a holistic approach to polymer materials science involving synthesis, modification, characterization and theory of polymers as well as processing and testing. This provides the fundamentals for the development of novel multifunctional polymer materials, biomaterials, and composites which allow innovations in, e. g., medicine, transport and mobility, as well as energy efficiency and advanced communication technologies.

A special feature of the institute’s activities is the close cooperation of scientists and engineers and a broad range of modern instruments and methods are available including pilot plants allowing material and technology development under industry-relevant conditions.
